We offer individual, couples and family counseling services for children, adolescents and adults.  Our therapists collaborate with each individual to identify their concerns, develop a treatment plan, and build a relationship that supports and guides personal growth.  Whether adjusting to changes, coping with symptoms or seeking a therapeutic ear, our team is available with day and evening appointments.

Resist-Refuse
Family Therapy

Our Resist-Refuse Family Therapy program is a unique, intensive intervention that supports and strengthens families experiencing parent-child estrangement and family discord.  While there are many reasons relationships become estranged, children benefit from healthy and stable relationships with both parents.  Our program addresses the individual needs of each family member, while also providing supportive and nurturing family-focused interventions necessary to heal and enrich those relationships.
All members of the family receive support and guidance throughout the program, treating the estrangement as a situation that all family members have the ability to resolve.
This program often requires court orders to initiate and begins with an intake to determine the appropriateness of the family for the program.  The program consists of individual and family sessions with creative and targeted interventions that can include community-based experiences if appropriate, that support the family in developing a positive future.

Parenting
Consultation

For any of the following services, please contact Mark Hagler at mhagler@ahdcllc.com to schedule an intake appointment or program information.

Parenting

Raising children is one of the most rewarding and demanding experiences on can take on.  Children and adolescents do not come with instruction manuals.  Allow our team of clinicians to work with you to provide support, education and strategies for parenting across the lifespan.  Our approach is developmental, and focuses on what your child needs at each age and stage to best support their growth and development.

Our parenting sessions begin with an individual intake appointment, providing an opportunity for you as a parent to share your joys as well as your challenges.  A treatment plan is then developed, identifying the areas of specific attention to be addressed, as well as the duration of the program.  Parenting sessions can be time-limited, or expanded to provide more support and guidance during difficult times.

Co-Parenting Skills

Co-parenting during a separation and divorce can be a challenge for any parent.  Our program provides parents with the tools to develop a positive co-parenting relationship, with a focus on prioritizing your children’s needs.  Sessions address practical skills, tips and strategies for healthy and effective co-parenting.

Each parent participates in an individual intake appointment to discuss their challenges, hopes and goals for treatment. Unless there are specific reasons or Orders to the contrary, parents are encouraged to attend the sessions together.

High-Conflict Parenting

If your family is currently experiencing high-conflict in response to changes or separation, our High-Conflict Parenting service may be for you.  These intensive sessions directly address the conflict you are experiencing by focusing on how to establish boundaries and reduce conflict when coparenting.  The goal is for you to maintain your cool, despite conflict.

Visitations

supervised and theraPEutic visitation

Supervised Visitation services offer safe and supportive opportunities for a parent and child(ren) to connect.  We are proud members of the Supervised Visitation Network, offering voluntary and court ordered supervised visits at our office.

Some families need additional supports when parenting.  Therapeutic Supervised Visits pair parents and children with a clinician to help build and support parent-child relationships.  Therapeutic Supervised Visits are appropriate when there has been a period of limited or no contact between a parent or to address issues involving parent-child estrangement.
